******SPOILER ALERT****** Great choice. There is a theory about the film that hasn't ever been confirmed or denied by the film makers. Is The Hitcher just a figment of C.Thomas Howell's imagination? Makes more sense than it seems to. |

It has been maybe 4 years since I saw that, I will watch it again now:clap: |

hmmm....interesting. I could see where the imagining thing could fit a few times in the movie. Like in all of the instances he was being framed, maybe he really did do it???......BUT theres no way he could be in his imagination because they caught the hitcher in the end and people were talking to him. But I could see where people may think the kid may be imagining the whole thing. |
"Don't Look Now" used to haunt me a few years ago...it's so weird it scares the hell out of me

I remember watching a horror flick in the 80's called 'superstition' - about a witch that lived in a pond near a family home. That **** me up good. Think it was on the UK banned list for a while.
Best horror I've seen recently was Frank Darabont's 'The Mist'. |
I think there's a few winners:
Most Disturbing- Hostel Creepiest- Nosferatu Most likely to make me sh*t myself- the Exorcist |
the halloween movies were good, not scary, dont get the two confused. . .
|
halloween movies were more thrillers than straight up horror movies. and by the "halloween movies" i mean the first two.
|
It's kinda cliche, but definatley The Excorcist.

Another great one I just remembered is Braindead. It's the only movie that's ever made me feel slightly ill from watching it (and not in the Pretty Woman sense of the phrase). |

Rose Red was really dark and creepy but it had a few big cheese factors to it. The acting the way some scenes were directed were just not well but that goes for all of his movies there is always some part that it pure cheese. Pet cemitery was a very creepy movie, more so if you watch it when your young. Quote:

I personally really like Rob Zombie movies he really has good ideas and knows how to make things perfect. I can't wait to see his new Halloween movie. |
the first jaws was a good movie the rest of them were pretty lame
|
There is cheese and there is cheese when it comes to horror movies.
This is cheese and damn good too: |
Nice Lee, looks almost like Dr. Who meets Braindead!
Slither from 2006 is a good movie for those who love and miss the gory 80s horror flicks. It's part comedy, part horror, lots of cool special effects and gore. It will not be the best horror movie you've seen, but it will keep you happily entertained while it's on. Check out the trailer :) |
The SAW movies are alright but they are starting to get to be homo.

I personally didn't like Slither. I thought the pacing was very slow but I'm a fussy bugger when it comes to films!

Although I am of the opinion most Stephen King adaptions have been absolute ****e, this is a much better film than people give it credit for. Hell, I'd even say its scary in certain places. |

My favourite horror movie of all time is probably Evil Dead although that's probably because of just as much affectionate value as it is because of quality. I still think it's a very good movie, especially when you consider budget, who they were etc. etc. Enjoy the theatrical trailer if you want :D |
I loved when The Blair With Project made people flip out. Like they thought that stuff was seriously real.
|
its not that you think its real its suspenseful thats all
|
IDK man some peopel were flipping out.
|
it is pretty freaky though must say
|
i really like the movie 1409 based on Stephen Kings short story, not really scary like youll have nightmares about it but it still is a pretty good movie, anyone else seen this movie?

Best horror movie easily goes to the Kubrick classic The Shining! That movie is amazing. High Tension is another really good one. Real bloody.

The Evil Dead trilogy is utterly fantastic. Low budget, yeah. But always classic. Plus, Bruce Campbell is pretty much God. A lot of people say Army of Darkness is their favorite, and while it's cool and everything, the first one's mine for sentimental reasons.
I'm very critical of horror films, it takes a lot to scare me. The original Nightmare on Elm Street was the very first horror film I ever saw (at the ripe old age of six years old... yeah you can bet it gave me nightmares lol) and because of that it holds a special place in my heart. I love that movie. As far as recent horror films go, one of the more intense ones I've seen was Shrooms. Check it out if you haven't seen it, it's crazy. But my absolute all-time favorite horror movie ever is Pet Sematary. It's such a psychological thing as well as a blood 'n guts "arise from the dead" thing. Bonus points for Mr. Munster playing Judd Crandall. (That being said, the retarded excuse for a sequel almost kills it for me.) |
Quote:
I agree about Pet Sematary as well, it's a good movie - I also read the book when I was a kid. The sequel is absolutely awful, though it still made me laugh now and then. Clancy Brown as the returned evil zombie dad had his moments. |
