Xbox 360 Appreciation Thread
 

I remember there used to be a thread like this around the time I first joined but turned into this huge debate over PS3 vs Xbox 360, so lets just completely avoided any of that. Ive quite enjoyed the dashboard update with the avatars and i LOVE the netflix, so now I can watch any episode of the Office whenever I want. The new GTA 4 DLC was pretty good but too damn short, I beat it in 2 days. Anyway I hope this thread has a couple of good responses, so that I know that the whole gamer community on this site isn’t stuck in the early 90’s or Nintendo gaming.

My XBox got stolen in December, so I got another one just Saturday. I'm missing my Assassin's Creed but I have GTA4 now, and it's a cool game. I'm wanting to get Fallout 3 soon, maybe the special Lunchbox Edition. Eventually I hope to get the Garden of Eden or whatever it's called DLC.

I honestly couldnt get into Fallout 3, which makes me feel weird, because all my friends that played got addicted to it. =\

It's just taste. I know a lot of people do like it, but you know, it's just subjective.

I can't afford an xbox, but I do want one. Left 4 Dead with friends = great times. :)

Dude I keep telling you, 5 finger discount. That or get a job. Left 4 Dead is an amazing game to play with friends, except I always end up being the girl. =\

Stealing an Xbox wouldn't be conspicuous at all.

I'm not a huge gamer (I only own Halo, Cod4, GTA4, and The Orange Box) but I want Left 4 Dead so much, playing four person co-op and versus is ridiculously fun. If games weren't so damn expensive I'd buy a few more.

Yeh I buy a new game once every couple of months. I'm thinking about getting resident Evil 5, but the demo wasnt very fun so idk. And COD4>> COD World At War.

I've heard good things about CoD5, although it seems that the Zombie Nazi mode is the only thing that everyone seems to talk about. I'm not going to buy it though because I have no money and I really don't care enough about it.

Well I hate World war 2 games because they seem to come out every month. It's probably the biggest genre of games to ever be whored out and I'm not going to spend $60 to kill nazi zombies, when I can already kill zombies in Left4 Dead, and just pretend theyre nazis.

Yeah, I realized I ****ed up my last post. I mean that it seems pretty pathetic that the only thing people seem to like is the Nazi Zombie mode. I agree, WW2 games are way too overdone. I pretty much stopped playing WW2 shooters after Battlefield 1942.

Call Of Duty 5 is a standout in its genre though, because it actually has a good story, and it isn't just centered around the whole Americans-Killing-Germans thing. It's two completely different parts of World War II that you don't normally get to play. It's also the most realistic of its kind.

Nazi Zombies is funnnnn. It's kinda like The Last Stand but more versatility. But WW2 games are overdone. I like em though.

One of the reason I loved COD4 so much was because they did something different and went modern. Anyone getting RE5 or Halo Wars?

My friends have been talking about Halo Wars nonstop lately. It's kind of bugging me now.

Nazi Zombies on COD5? Did I miss something? Seriously...I've played that game a zillion times and I don't remember that. Or is that when you play campaign mode? I always play online.

i might look into getting RE5, seeing as there are no other games coming out soon/that have come out recently worth even sneezing at.

Dude youre far behind the times. All my friends keep talking about 'dude Friday RE5, I'm getting that **** man!' I myself might get it depending on its reviews.

Yeah, it's a special feature for if you beat it with some kinda difficulty. Like every game ever.

Same here. Only a few were planning on getting it, but one day I walked into school to see all of them talking about how fun it was last night, and I think to myself "oh man..." And it ends up they ALL got the game. So I end up getting the game so I'm not left in the dark playing something else, and the game is sort of average. Its your basic RTS with really nice graphics. I think the biggest dissapointment in that game is the online lag. Both the game itself and people's connections lag bad when the action gets big, I've even seen it during LAN games. Sure, the battles are big, but other RTS games seem to deal with it much better, some of those being made by the same developer that made Halo Wars, Ensamble Studios. The worst thing is that they recently went out of buisness, so that means there a good chance that no patches or dlc will be released.

Now there is talk of everybody selling Gears of War 2, and I'm already hearing that some are going to buy cod 5, a series of games I really don't like (no offense to cod fans, I just have different taste). I may sound like a really boring person saying this, but what ever happened to slower paced shooters? Thats what I like about Halo3, there is more time for more things to happen in one specific situation instead of the usual "2 people see each other, 1 person shoots first, the other person dies" thing I see in the games like cod4. While in Halo3, things are a bit slower and there is room for more variation. Both are fine if that is what you like, but over time I get tired of so many people saying how much better cod4 is because its "faster." Sorry if this sounded whiny, but this is an accumulation of an entire of year of people at my school, online, and basically everywhere else saying how much Halo3 sucks because its slower paced. Ughh...

My xbox hasn't died on me yet, It's been with me for a good year or so. Considering a probably play it once a month and all it really does is gather dust it's in pretty good shape. Surprised the dust hasn't killed it yet.

Ok this is completely contradictory to my post from nearly a year ago above, but I think I'm going back to an Xbox 360. After my PS3 got stolen I kind of went off of gaming for a bit save the odd PC gaming experience, but there's a lot of games I still really want to play. I'm dilemma is if I should just get another Xbox 360 Arcade for $150 or if I should sent my Xbox 360 in to get repaired the $110, but have to wait a few weeks.
