Futurama Producers Firing Entire Cast - WTF!!!
 

I love this programe. And I've found out recently that the makers of Futurama who've decided to make more episodes are firing the original voices of the characters involved! Link here:

Are you guys into this show? Do you think it will even be half decent without the original cast?

back when i used to watch it as a kid, i didn't really get it. these days though, i find it hilarious. idk, it always seemed like a comedy for "nerdy people", if i could be so blunt

I mean replacing Billy West? That's insane.

Damnnit I was gonna say that! But anyway I thought this show was off the air apart from the straight to DVD releases.

Yeah that's what I thought. I really hope this thing sorts itself out, Futurama is way better than the Simpsons.

It's just a contract negotiating tool.

Nothing more.

Billy West alone probably counts for more than half of all the voices in Futurama. Who in the hell do Fox think they are? You can't replace Billy West. That's like firing Dan Castelanetta from The Simpsons.

A lot of these tv networks don't think things through.

You remember John Kricfalusi, creator of Ren & Stimpy?

Nickelodeon had him fired from his own show. :laughing:

yeah, haha. then he moved it to Spike TV and even they couldn't take it :laughing:

How Ren & Stimpy and Rocko's Modern Life ever got past the censors for a tv network marketed specifically towards children is nothing short of f*cking amazing.

Yeah Ren& Stimpy was RAUNCHY for Nick.

I didn't even know Futurama was still making new episodes.

No it was canceled years ago.

But Comedy Central and the creators just signed a contract for a new season. It's making a comeback like Family Guy did.

...no billy west?..the man is a legend. This is a real kick in the arse, after a good show finally gets back on the air.Even if Frink and zoidberg said the most mundane things they'd sound hillarious.

yup.

I heard about that and then, ironically, Billy West stepped up to do both lead voices, among others. I like Billy West, but my main problem with the recast is how can you replace Katey Sagal? Or any of them for that matter? Their voices are so iconic and recognizable that you won't be able to watch the show the same way with a new voice cast. I mean it'd be different if the entire cast died, but just over money? It feels like Fox is becoming cheep lately, oh well at least Glee looks like it has potential.
