The most consistent director

I simply like him because Reservoir Dogs, Pulp Fiction, and Inglourious Basterds are three of my favorite movies. He has awesome style and always puts everything he has into his films. I was a little disappointed by Kill Bill and haven't watched the second part yet. It was okay. I'm gonna get around to watching Jackie Brown soon enough and haven't decided whether Death Proof is worth my time yet or not...

Kill Bill was disappointing?? WHAT? You haven't even seen vol 2, everyone thinks vol 1 was > vol 2.

I prefer volume 2.

But how can it disappoint you? such raw violence. I love Kill Bill.

I LOVED the violence. All Tarantino movies have that. But what else was there?

An interesting story line between a woman assassin and her former employee.. The second has violence and reveals more about the plot. You need to watch 1 and 2 side by side. Or quite close to each other, that's what I did. Truly terrific piece of work. Death Proof is worth your time, just cos it's Tarantino. But it isn't his strongest film, the first half is really good.

every film tarkovsky made was a masterpiece. same with bresson. so one of those.

Most consistent: Federico Fellini
Each and every one of his films is a masterpiece that can easily stand out on its own. From the Neo-Realist La Strada, to the Surreal/Psychological/Autobiographical 8 1/2, the ambiguous Absurd Comedy/Drama E la nave va or the peplum Satyricon.. and the list goes on.

Another consistent director: Martin Scorsese.
Even his short films as a student in NYC, or his abundant documentaries... all of them make for a great memorable watch.

ill add the name of carl th dreyer as well. his final run of films, even though they were unfortunately very few and far between, are some of the greatest, most powerful films of all time--la passion de jeanne d'arc, vampyre, day of wrath, ordet, gertrud.
