My 3 films to recommend:

1. Man from Earth - It's one of the best low budget films eva. I enjoyed it a lot.

2. The Seventh Seal - Old movie about a Swedish Knight Playing Chess with Death...

3. Limitless - It's about some guy who get's his hands on a drug that let's him "think clearly". Pretty good.

I don't know if these are my top 3 movies, but they're three movies that I enjoyed a lot...

I'm not sure how relevant this thread still is to you RCVA, but seeing as how I sold you on Autolux lets see if I can sell you on some movies too.

1.) The City of Lost Children

I really cannot praise this movie enough. Its got an incredibly imaginative story, truly beautiful set designs that capture the art deco architecture design perfectly. Most importantly though are the actors, who all leave an impression on the viewer, nobody feels unimportant which is incredibly rare for a movie. Seriously you will never see a movie quite like this, plus it will give you movie geek cred.

2.) Strange Days

This is probably my favorite sci-fi movie at the moment. It's set in the final days of the 20th century in Los Angeles as they deal with socio-economic and racial strife. Ralph Fiennes stars as Lenny Nero, a dealer in these... mini CD's that contain recorded memories of various experiences. The film is essential cyberpunk, but set in a contemporary time with less of a focus on a big corporate antagonist, and more of a focus on mystery/whodunit. It has a pretty killer soundtrack and each of the characters is well rounded, flawed, and have arcs. Seriously you should check out this movie, if not for the story, acting, soundtrack, visual design, then for the fact that Juliette Lewis is naked... a lot.

3.) Brick

I just saw this movie recently but already it's one of my absolute favorites. It's another mystery/whodunit except this time it's set in a high school environment. It's a neo-noir mystery that is very truth and faithful to the old film noir movies of the '40's and '50's, even keeping some of the slang (however it doesn't get in the way too much). It really manages to combine thriller mystery with satire and even throws in some comedic moments to balance everything out. It's well written, and much like The City of Lost Children, every character is memorable in their own way.
