After the hospital plot I was feeling kind of bored and discouraged but after tonight's episode and the hopeless theme behind the coming episodes I'm feeling really good about this show again.

Me too. That episode was amazing in every way. What a freaking gut punch!

I take issue with that for numerous reasons. For one I thought it had a decent amount of action in it and thought it moved at a much faster pace than pretty much all of season four did. Secondly, and most importantly, why do some people seem to just hate the episodes that aren't just all mindless slaughters of zombies? The new episode was truly brilliant and I still feel the show has just gone from strength to strength over the last two years.

This place always seems to have the best opinions on most things I like to discuss.

I agree with everything you just said. There's a vast and diverse audience for this show so I tend to avoid opinions on it for a lot of reasons. Overall it just pisses me off when people always get buttpained when there is a recurring instance of character development prioritizing over action. This episode was about all that development paying off in a big way for the entire show IMO. Luckily the episode is holding up with high ratings in the midst of all the hate. That's all i need to know. I'm hoping to see the show keep the strength of episodes 1-3 and 9 of this season going into the rest of the current and next season. I felt like those episodes were among the best TWD has ever done.

While I say I think the show has gone from strength to strength, I have to say my favourite season is four. However I think in 4 and thus far into 5 they have really extended the life of the series, by taking the time to develop characters, exploring back story and generally slowing down the pace and giving you reasons to further love the characters and care what happens to them.

I think the latest episode was one of the very best yet, I agree completely. From a directional standpoint it was magnificent, and it can only be a good thing that Greg Nicotero is also directing the seasons finale.

I loved the use of music in this episode.

A very good point and easily overlooked. I loved the use of music too, as I did metaphor, symbolism, misdirection and a heavy use of "dream" like sequences too. I thought the way it was directed was beautiful. I liked pretty much every detail, to be fair.

Great read here:

I agree with everyone on the new episode, that was fantastic. The dream sequences were especially haunting as well as the hallucinations. Very powerful.

This too. I've really been enjoying the way that TWD has been using music during this whole season, even if there were a couple of lulls storywise.

In my opinion TWD is one of those shows that keep people in their seats. Even though its about zombie apocalypse it has a certain point to make. That the people are the worst threat there is. And every season of The Walking Dead shows another bad image of evil people. Although i dont know if there is anyway to be darker than the Governor xD

*cough*

Wait until you meet Lucille.
