**videogames versus videogames
just like all the other threads but with videogames, except not two at a time
4 at a time Twilight Princess http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedi...Game_Cover.jpg vs Okami http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedi...coverFinal.jpg Saints Row 3 http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedi...rd_box_art.jpg vs GTA 4 http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedi...o_IV_cover.jpg For me its okami and gta4 you guys can do your own ones too i didnt really know what to pick to start |
While I only started playing Okami last night, I'm already of the opinion that it's a better Zelda game than Twilight Princess was so I'm going with that. The art style is incredible and I can't believe I didn't pick it up in 2006 when it came out and I was still using a PS2.
As for Saints Row vs. Grand Theft Auto I'm having to side with Grand Theft Auto 4 on this one. I am starting to think that I'm the only one who actually enjoyed the more mature themes found in the game's story because it proves that Rockstar can do both wacky immature violence and compelling melodrama. So far all the Saints Row series has managed to do is create great GTA-clones with even more wacky humor, and by the third game the wackiness was turned up to 11 and I don't know... I just don't like it when a game is trying too hard to be funny. Okami - 2 Grand Theft Auto IV - 2 |
Haven't played either of the first two.
GTA IV Vs Saints Row 3. So, basically the franchise versus a lame parody of it. Yup, no contest. My little brother likes Saints Row. It's stupid though, like him. Okami 2 GTA IV 3 |
Never played Okami but The Legend of Zelda makes me jizz.
Zelda-1 Okami-2 GTA is better GTA-4 |

Spoiler for larger picture than I thought:
This is a game that will still look beautiful in 5 years. |
Only played TP and GTA IV out of those 4 so my "votes" don't count. TP was still a great game in its own right, but I felt let down by it when I compare it to other Zelda games. GTA IV is a really fun game but I think it gets overrated.

Its crazy how big the game is. I thought the first hub world was gonna be it, a la zelda, but no, I'm on my like 5th different big ass place now. Each one about the size of hyrule its cray. The writing is pretty funny too, can't believe capcom shut down clover studio Quote:

Okami is one of my favorite games, so it obviously gets my vote. I never liked Twilight Princess that much.
Zelda-1 Okami-3 I haven't played Saints Row 3 yet (I think that Saints Row 2's a great time waster, though), so I won't vote, but Grand Theft Auto IV is alright (although I'll admit that I've only played it for a few hours). |

Not touched either of the first two games but I despise GTA4 and love SR3 so that one's no contest (although personally I think SR2's the best of them all). I did notice someone stating a Capcom game actually had good writing though which makes me want to try this Okami out because that sounds pretty unbelievable to me.

Never played Okami, but I much prefer GTA IV to the silly Saints Row the Third. GTA IV, like most of its predecessors, was a compelling game that had me wanting more all the way through till the end. Saints Row the Third, perhaps for lacking any sort of realism at all, coudln't keep my interest for more than a handful of hours before I found I suddenly had no wish to go back to the game.
GTA IV 5 |
Resident Evil
http://img.hsmagazine.net/2011/10/re...s1-box-art.jpg vs. Resident Evil 4 http://romhustler.net/img/screenshot...edb12c19cc.jpg I'm taking 4. The original is great for nostalgia, but I'd argue that 4 has the greatest single player campaign in video game history. |

If it was the 2002 gamecube remake of Resident Evil I might have to think twice before I vote, but because it's not I'm going with Resident Evil 4. The game really did find the perfect control scheme for 3rd person shooter action games, and while it could be argued that Resident Evil 4's success is the reason why survival horror doesn't exist any in the AAA gaming industry, the game itself was still a great game to play and one of the reasons to own a Gamecube.

I never got on with Resident Evil 4, as the plot just got too ridiculous for me to handle. Even though RE 1 has not aged well by any means, I prefer it, largely due to the big nostalgia glasses I am currently wearing :D

I've not played Okami or Saints Row 3 so cannot really compare. I've heard great things about Okami so am very tempted to get the HD version on my PS3

Not sure if these ones are too niche, but they were my favourite Genesis games.
Zombies Ate My Neighbors http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedi...ghbors_box.jpg vs. ToeJam & Earl http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedi...m_%26_Earl.png Zombies Ate My Neighbors was also on SNES. As I mentioned, these are my favourite two Sega Genesis games, so it's really tough for me to decide. I think I'd give it to ToeJam & Earl though. Probably the coolest game of all time, on top of it being really fun to play. |
zombies because i actually played it.
I owned a dreamcast and always wanted to play that version of t&e, it looked really cool. http://www.cheatsunlimited.com/img/g...n_Earth_01.gif |
