wii u

is anyone about to get it?

I'm considering it heavily.

Some interesting tech speech from tecmo developer about it

Quote:

One of the weaknesses of the Wii U compared to PS3 and Xbox 360 is the CPU power is a little bit less," he said. "So for games in the Warriors series, including Dynasty Warriors and Warriors Orochi, when you have a lot of enemies coming at you at once, the performance tends to be affected because of the CPU.
but

But from a visual standpoint, based on the performance of the Wii U, we knew the game had the capability of having much better graphics than games on PS3 and Xbox 360. Make no mistake, from a visual standpoint, it is able to produce better graphics. So our challenge was to make a higher quality graphics. We were able to meet that."
The classic controller looks cool too, but i hate the idea of having to plug it into my wii pad.

I'm just gonna wait til the next Zelda comes out when the system has dropped in price. Honestly, at least for me, Nintendo's only selling point over any other system is Zelda.

I'll just save up and buy the PS4 (unless Xbox 720 looks a lot better) for its exclusives.

Despite Bayonetta 2 being an exclusive, I'm not going to buy a Wii U when it releases. After I spent $250 on a 3DS last year and only bought one game for it (Ocarina of Time 3D), I've made the decision to never buy consoles until they've been out for a few months.

I'll probably buy one when a price drop occurs.

I doubt I'll buy one. I don't play video games nearly as much as I used to, and when I do now it's almost strictly mutliplayer and with personal friends. The PS3 should be fine until the PS4 comes out.

The Wii U will have to have a real killer app in order for me to buy one.

I wondered why they decided to call it Wii U instead of Wii 2 for the longest time.
Then I learned in Japanese class that 2 is ni. Wiini would not help curve the phallic jokes.
But with anything, I'm not buying it until the price drops and there's a good library of games for it.

Man, I really wish they would have called it Wiini.

"Hey, would you like to come to my house and play with my brand new Wiini?"

I think I will wait on buying the Wii U. First, because the price will go down after some time on the market, and secondly, because I have an original Wii that works perfectly. I'm not the world's biggest gamer but the Wii U looks like fun. I'll wait though, just like I waited to get an iPad after all the hype went away.

I'm on the fence. I probably won't buy it until it's been out a while, if only because Nintendo's fatal flaw has always been lack of good games for its properties. They don't develop well with external game developers, which is why they just make their living off of rehashing Mario, Zelda, and Pokemon over and over.

I don't really have the nostalgic need to play nintendo exclusives. And the IP associated with the 360 and ps3 is more what I prefer playing anyway. They also have a wider range of titles,a dn it looks like it'll stay that way.

The wii u is more or less equal to the 360 and ps3 in terms of performance, but more expensive.

So really, there is no temptation whatsoever, apart from bayonetta 2. But that wont be enough.

The WiiU will eventually drop in price. I remember the PS3 was 500$-ish at release date, there's not much left of that price by now. =P

And while I'll always be a Ninty-fanboy, I still need to buy a 3DS or this one. I might eventually buy a 3DS, I'll have to wait for WiiU to drop. It'll probably take until the next 3D-Mario or the new Zelda for me to buy it, right now there's not a lot of stuff announced for the WiiU that makes me go wild or anything.
