I always try to judge a movie by what it tries to achieve compared to what it actually achieves.
By this standard Revolver might have been one of the worst movies I've seen.
Tried to be mysterious, deep, lynchian, ended up being a ridiculous mess full of retarded cliches and absolutely nothing behind it. Really painful to watch.
Even Ray Liotta and Mark Strong, two actors I like and respect, seemed lost in it, despite trying their best.

But even then, Alien 3 and Alien Resurrection are, in their ways, pretty awful I think .. They may have moments of quality, but ultimately, they lack integrity. Alien 3 was the result of endless compromise and rewrites and Resurrection seems just a way to cash in a little extra on the fading franchise.

I'd take Prometheus over both those movies any day!

I really liked Alien 3. I never got attached to the characters in Aliens, so it didn't affect me when they didn't bring them back in Alien 3.

Worst films I've ever seen:

1) Fear.com
2) Blues Brothers 2000

I have walked out on very few films in my life, but these two take top cake.

I love this movie and it is piss easy to understand. I will always stand by this movie no matter what is thrown at it. The scene where Mark Strong is on a stakeout is superb. Maybe I should just watch Grown Ups or something :(

The worst movie I have seen recently was R.I.P.D. Fecking useless.

^Well I might check it out in that case.

Ja you gotta suspend your disbelief over the Grand Canyon, but I thought it was entertaining enough. I mean it's a zombie flick, you're not always going to get a Pontypool.

I think Revolver gets a somewhat bad rep just because of Guy Ritchie's more accomplished work.

I don't think it's bad, because I found it hard to understand, if that's what you meant.

Ritchie is a decent british version of Tarantino, Tarantino being somewhat overrated himself, this isn't that much.
Both make relatively well done, entertaining movies, not much more.

Agreed completely. Both are style over substance, to the extreme. Still fun though, no matter how overrated they both are.
