I'm with jack on this. There's nothing wrong with your idea but for some of us it would get a bit boring with all the mainstream horror films mentioned above. We could just do the same thing you suggested except call it an "obscure horror movie tournament" and include all the ****ed up films that come out of our heads. I'm sure we have a lot.

That's fine, I don't see why we just do "best", because obscure =/= best necessarily. Then you guys could nominate obscure films that you think are better than mainstream ones.

I for one found Blood and Black Lace, like a lot o the films of the time, to be on the boring side, not that scary, and filled to the brim with hokey acting. I'm sure it was good for it's time, but it doesn't hold up and I'm not watching it in 1960, so I'm not gonna pretend like it.

I'd be down for this. Not sure how easy it'll be to get a definitive list between the ten or twelve of us that we actively participate though.

If you get your nominations in early enough, I'll try and watch what I can to see if I agree with them.

How long would you want our own personal lists to be?

I guess we should try to get a number of participants down so that we can figure out how many each should contribute.

What's your top 5? I'll try and check out what I can in the meantime :pimp:

I think we need to decide if this is going to be a strict horror tournament.

Would Jacob's Ladder be included even though it's more of a psychological thriller? Same could be said with Kill List.

I say yes, they should count, but that's only my opinion and we'll make this a Democracy.

Spoiler for we have spoiler tags for a ****ing reason:
Well he does die at the end of Jaccob's Ladder, but he doesn't die in a horrific way... actually he makes peace with his own demise so I would say no.
