I actually have an idea.

I call it: The Spider and the Web.

You play as Robert the Bruce, who has a fascinating story. The game would be set up similar to Assassins Creed or a 13th Century GTA. The game begins just before a new King is chosen, do a couple missions preparing for the coronation and the like, then when John Balliol is chosen, join in the English invasion of Scotland.

After a bunch of missions about finding your own way and your path, Bruce would join forces with William Wallace and fight against the English. After this too is unsuccessful, Bruce would feel repressed, knowing he had to reluctantly do missions for the bad guy English forces until your character can't take it anymore and fights back.

You would go from a lowly rebel to King of Scotland by the end of the game, fighting leprosy, politics, royalty and propaganda. Your character would face important emotional challenges as his family were taken from him and he's forced into exile. You experience many highs and lows.

You get cool swords and armour. The combat takes place mainly in important battles, but the game is free roam as you travel across the Scottish highlands on horseback scouring for wild boar to eat. You can take over English strongholds, fight off invasions, recruit towns folk, do side quests such as jestering, hunting, jousting and caber tossing.

I dunno, just think it'd be cool. Here's a shortened version of Robert the Bruce's full story, you tell me:
