I saw a pre-SNL Sarah Sherman (going by the name "Sarah Squirm") at a music festival in 2018. If you think her comedy on SNL is strange, well, that's a watered down version of her live stand up act.

There's nothing funny about what she does. It's great that she loves the cinema of David Cronenberg, so do I. But all this adds up to is studied, tedious eccentricity for eccentricity's sake. She's good at building a brand for herself with the right audience (leftist millennials and zoomers), they lap anything up if it comes from the corner of the internet they align their sad little identities with.
