If you did not know, "Five Nights At Freddy's" is a horror game about animatronics trying to kill you. The game has gained a lot of popularity over time and is pretty popular...

I love the games. They have a certain feel to them, one that makes you want to play again and again. The game is certainly disturbing and suspenseful.

My only problem is that it is always talked about. If it was not such a big thing. Everybody plays it and reacts to it. I am kinda sick of that part of the game.

What are your thoughts?

Wait....so you hate that a game has done well? Would you rather the developers fail?

He hates trending.

I just think the game should have stayed smaller. The creator still would get a lot of money from it.

Just the popularity spoils a lot of it.

Then why are you telling us about it?

Actually, the developer probably would've scrapped the idea had it not gotten popular. Thus making no money.

Stayed smaller? It's set in a single room where you can't move. As for the popularity of the game, blame PewDiePie for that, not the game's creator.

I'm still unsure how the popularity ruins the game. If you're talking about hype, I do agree that it's pretty hyped up for being a pretty decent jump scarer.

Popularity can ruin games. Not saying it always does but any game with active updates has potential to be ruined when the company starts catering to popular demand instead of staying true to the vision of their product. Mass appeal =/= quality imo, and now that I'm thinking about it, it pretty much parallels the music industry.

Anyway, I thought this game was popular because of the ties it has to a real life event.

I doubt anyone bought it thinking "oh boy, finally after all these years I get to play a video game that draws parallels to the Nathan Dunlap murders of 1993".

The game is perfect YouTube fodder and many popular YouTube personalities played it, then their fan base went out and bought it. It's 2014's Slenderman.

Oh god, everyone in my sub box was doing a video on it.

I will admit that the gameplay and style are pretty good. I got enjoyment out of it at least.
