With the upcoming release of the remastered StarCraft 1/Brood War, Blizzard has made the original free to download, so if anyone wants to get it and play some online games then feel free to use this thread to organize matches. If we can get at least a few people on board then this could be epic.

continuing on with my retardation it keeps encountering an error. i should be downloading the top one, Star Craft Anthology, yeah?

Yeah. What error? I think Blizzard ****ed up the update they did yesterday, cause it wasn't working for me for a while either afterward. Then it updated again, worked but it wouldn't take my password for multiplayer, and then there was another update and everything was fine.

If it's the same thing that was happening to me, then in whatever the hell is Mac's equivalent to StarCraft's folder should have a file called "StarCraft Launcher". For some reason that starts the game up somehow differently so that you get new updates.

yeah star craft launcher is... well launching, but then it says error encountered and gives me an error code.

we're good, just had to re-download my blizzard client.

In Blizzard's defense, they haven't updated StarCraft in almost a decade, so it's understandable that they might have ****ed up.

I'm kind of a fan of Jaedong vs. Flash battles. SC2 matches are easier to follow, but SC1 matches are so chaotic and intense. There's just always something going on pretty much all over the map and you're always having to go back and rewatch **** to figure out even what's going on and it's awesome. Anyone with any familiarity with SC1 game mechanics can appreciate even just a bit how ****ing hard this game is and how amazing the pros must be to do the things that they do.

This **** is just amazing.
