Man, I remember back in the late '90s/early 2000s, mini series were the shit. There were a whole bunch that were really fun, like Arabian Nights, Merlin, and The 10th Kingdom, even if they were a bit cheesy. I'm kinda in the mood for more awesome mini series to watch, so anybody got any recs?

Carlos is excellent. I haven't seen many miniseries but that's probably my favourite.

P.S. Do any of you remember all those mini series based off of Stephen King stories, like Rose Red, It, and The Stand?

I do remember them and they were garbage.

Aw, come on. Deep down, you know that Rose Red was alright.

You got me. That's the only one I haven't seen.

The Stand was promising but they stretched it out too long. I'm no Stephen King fan either, so that didn't help.

Yeah, The Stand started off alright, but got pretty bad by the end. I feel like a lot of King's stories, and the adaptations of them, turn to shit real quick when it becomes clear that he isn't quite sure how to end them.

And that everything happens in Maine.

Well Band of Brothers is pretty much the greatest non film I've ever seen. It doesn't do it justice to call it the best mini series ever. It's just one of the best things ever. I watch it at least once a year. Top of the Lake as Chiomara said is also fantastic. Carl Sagan's Cosmos needs mention. The Neil DeGrasse Tyson one got annoying. Are we counting Planet Earth? We should. The first one is the best nature mini series ever filmed. Ken Burns had The War and The Civil War, both being very good.

I still haven't seen Carlos.

Alright, I just finished Carlos. Fucking harrowing stuff. Like Scarface, but without the disco (although the soundtrack of Carlos was pretty sick at times).

I watched The Lost Room. Twas groovy. I also watched a mini series from the 80s called Shogun that had Toshiro Mifune in it.

I actually really liked Rose Red. Have you seen Storm of the Century?

Yeah, I've seen it. Pretty good, if I remember correctly.

Was that the one by James Clavell, with Richard Chamberlain? ****ing excellent that was.

You do need to see it. It's dated, but ****ing superb.

Rewatching Kingdom Hospital. Instant kick to the nostalgia balls. 10/10
