Fighting wars involves invading countries and murdering their civilians, which is a war crime.

Might help if you think about it like this: What would you think of a country invaded America and murdered thousands of civilians for something like preserving their superpower reputation or keeping oil prices low? Imma guess you don't have a positive opinion of that hypothetical country's actions. So why should America get to do it?
