Not an especially visually developed animated series.
The thrill is in the 60s music, hep vs. old school dialogue, campy villains and metropolitan environs.

That's what Batman: The Animated Series is for. Visually developed animation porn.

Yeah, Bat, though the series can't even touch Into The Spider-Verse (2018) (in terms of visual thrills, anyway).

I've been racking my brain trying to find an animated Spidey full feature that came out (I think) in 2001 or thereabouts which was a very dark but totally on-point inner-city Spider-Man (opens with a bigoted cop kicking the sh*t out of some dreadlock shorty selling weed). I hated and loved that version, a copy of which disappeared with my old desktop. It's been so long I can't even remember if it was Spidey or Superman. But it was one of the best animated superhero flicks I'd seen. I'll trip over it again in my web travels but if anyone knows which flick I'm referring to let me know!

Have you seen Batman: Into the Red Hood? Some of those action scenes are the best I've ever seen animated.
