The number of gay people in real life has always been hidden but part of this is due to our insistence in categorising people as either one thing or another. The huge percentage of married ’straight’ males for instance who haunt parks & public toilets etc pretending they’re not gay is only part of it.

I'm in my Tudor period. Again. Keith Michell IS Henry VIII. Best episodes imo: Catherine of Aragon (primarily for the death scene and Chapuys's speech at the end - "a hand more determined than the others takes the wheel...to show that there were people there") and Jane Seymour (the entire episode - "Or the horse may talk.")
