tv rock n roll shows

I don't know whether this fits in more with media or with general music, but I digress.

Anyhow, what are some rock n roll TV shows you remember or maybe are still on? I'm sure the old timers will remember American Bandstand in the US, or the Old Grey Whistle Test in the UK, but I'm sure there were a lot of local shows out there, even on cable access.

The show I remember most was on USA's Night Flight in the Eighties. It was something called New Wave Theater. Peter Ivers was the host. He looked almost normal except that there was always this menacing look in a Vincent Price mode. He also would remind you not to be a gherkin.

And, of course, the show featured bands like the Unknowns and the Circle Jerks. You can catch some clips on YouTube to have an idea what it was about.

The series would tragically end when Peter Ivers was murdered under suspicious circumstances in January 1983, but the spirit of rock n roll lives on.

Anyway, that was the show I especially remember, what about you?

The Midnight Special show from the 70's. Not exclusively a rock music show but from what I recall, most of the acts performing on the show were in the rock genre.
