Default MB Video Game Classics: Halo: Combat Evolved

The first of many in the Halo franchise, and quite frankly, the best in the series. 5/5.

I like the Halo games a bit later in the series, but 1 and 3 were never really my favorites - and I never got a chance to play Halo 2.

Don't kill me if I say that ODST, Reach and 4 are the best in the series (I like the studio that took over from Bungie better, I guess).
I don't play multiplayer, so it's just from a single player campaign perspective. Well, that, and survival matches against bots. Those were fun too in the games that had them.

^it's all good. The first one is amazing because it was like my first experience with an FPS single player game and the story really drew me in right away. For the record I loved Halo Reach as well.

I remember first seeing Halo on a store display Xbox. I thought the graphics were amazing, but I didn't actually get to play the game until many years later. Didn't try and complete the campagin until I got the Halo: Anniversary edition for cheap - so quite a few years late.

Sort of annoying that the Xbox 360 never had any version of Halo 2 btw.

Halo 2 is the best in the franchise imo probably my favorite game of all time actually.

I'll check that dictionary, but in the meantime I'm impressed - as is everyone else in the world - by your eloquence, obvious accomplishments and success, and the evidence of your blazingly high intelligence.

I think the whole feel of it seperates it from the other games but that's partially nostalgia? But even looking back on it now it still rips in every area. Wish I could still play it online and there's no way I'm gonna buy a new Xbox to do just that seeing as I play video games like 3 or 4 times a year now.

I always just wait to see if by some otherworldy chance, more games will get on Steam and I can play them again. But unfortunately I don't think Microsoft is ready to put their games on Steam.
