MB's Video Game Classics: Tekken

Never actually played a Tekken game myself but I know they have gotten a lot of play time from people that love it.

I like the Tekken series as a whole, but the first one was not very good. Not only was it clunky and shallow, but it was also incredibly ugly. Those character select screen portraits especially... pure nightmare fuel.

Tekken 2 improved on it but the series didn't hit a real stride until Tekken 3.

I love fighting games and own over 80 for various systems, but this one doesn't cut it for me at all.

I think this was the first fighting game that inspired me to actually learn a character and take fighting games seriously. Button mashing be gone.

Tekken Tag Tournament is much more of a classic than the first few Tekkens. No arcade was complete without the triple T.

Now Tag Tournament, I can get behind. I've played Tekken Bowling more than I care to admit.
