Terry Pratchett vs. Douglas Adams?
 

Man I don't even know. I've been rereading Hitchhiker's Guide recently but it's been like a decade since I read it and I never read much of Discworld.

Coincidentally, I’m reading Men at Arms by Terry Pratchett right now. I was underwhelmed by the first book I read by him (Mort) but he’s really growing on me. That said, I still think I prefer Adams at this point.

I thought the thread was Patch Adams vs. Douglas Adams. Disappointed it's not.

I prefer Adams but I haven't read too much of the Discworld series tbh.

It's easy to like Adams more but come on, after the first couple Hitchhiker's books it starts to get depressing. I actually hated the last book cause it was so miserable.

The "last" Hitchhiker's book written by someone else actually got laughs from me and felt better even if it was clearly there to give a better-feeling ending to the series.

The last Adams book didn't even have ****ing Zaphod! How can you end the series wondering where the **** Zaphod is for several hundred pages?!

Hogfather is better than anything Adams wrote

And Pratchet was so prolific I’m sure there’s mountains of superior **** I’ll neber even get around to

When I finished “fish” I knew I was also done with Adams

I've only read a bit of the first Discworld book but I guess I need to read more. I have the first three so...

People who haven’t read both don’t vote

Wait, is the question Adams vs. Pratchett or HHGTTG vs. Discworld? Because The Long Dark Teatime of the Soul and Last Chance to See are two of Adam’s best books.
