Ok new idea, I'm going to use this to review albums that are good, but people cast them off without even listening to them for one reason or another.
For Starters:

Fall Out Boy's Evening Out With Your Girlfriend
Fall Out Boy

Face it Fall Out Boy aren't that good, and It's fine if you don't like them because they're not good, but what pisses me off is when people cast this album because, well, it's by Fall Out Boy
This album really shows what FOB was capable of. The lyrics are amazing, and Stump's voice is actually tolerable. I love the allusions to pop culture throughout the entire album, especially in Pretty In Punk, and Moving Pictures. Another constant in the album is the playing skills. The guitars are amazing, the drums aren't nearly as bad as they are in albums with Hurley playing them, and whether you like it or not, ete Wentz is an amazing bass player.

Ahh if I had a quarter for everytime I've been told "It's just poppy Kill Your Girlfriend Music" It is, but does that automatically make it bad? NO SIR.
Brand New are an amzing band, but only get recognized for The Devil and God Are Raging Inside Me, because it has "emotion". Well YFW is full of emotion as well, and even though it's more "juvenile" then their other albums, it's still amazing.
The Alfred Hitch**** refrences mixed in with Evan Lacey;s biting lyricism are a deadly combination, as you can see in tracks like Jude Law and a Semeseter Abroad, and Magazines. The Cue help out as well Logan to the Government Center, using "Close To Me" was a great idea for Brnd New.
There are no misses on this album, and ending with Socco Amaretto Lime perfectly closes out the album wrapping up everything they've been trying to say since the album started
One of my all time favorite albums: 9/10

Your Favorite Weapon is actually my favorite album from Brand New. The first songs I ever heard from Brand New were Mix Tape and Failure by Design and I'd have to agree the Jude Law and a Semester Abroad is the best track.

I think it's just as deep as The Devil and God are Raging inside me, just in a different context. The bluntness and honesty in their lyricism is the most prevalent in this album.

I definatley reccomend both of these albums for anyone who wants to get into pop-rock.

I saw Tom Gabel at a local music store a couple weeks ago, and just found a video of it to post. It was ****ing amazing. Tom Gabel is a great live performer.

Okay I'm reviving this thread. I download ~10 albums a week, and I'd like to start reviewing some of them, as some of them are good enough to make it on my unfinished and outdated Top 100. I know I'm not the best reviewer, but I think a thread like this would be a great place to hone my skills. I'll try to update this a couple time a week. Keep in mind I'll be reviewing all the albums on the week I downloaded them. I will be taking reccomendations. I'm going to start with a couple albums from last week to get this going.

Good reviews. I can only talk for myself, but I'm sure lots of people give albums like this judgement without even listening to it. For instance, my girlfriend thinks The Killers new Day And Age album has a message in it about how Brandon Flowers is feeling pushed into making a certain type of music and points our it has references to pop-culture as well. I can't say I agree/disagree because I haven't even given it a chance. I've never listened to a Fall Out Boy album because I always viewed them as sort of bull****... but that's just me being arrogant and judgemental. Maybe a lot of mainstream bubblegum pop music is coming out, but we can't have intense musical movements every generation. I think, like all music, it just shows where a section of society is today and that's perfectly fine- not everything has to be great to be legit. A lot of punk music nearly as complicated as the music before it, so why does what's on TV today have to be? I'm sure there is a good deal of actual talent in all of these bands and am glad to see somebody is reviewing them, I'll be paying attention to this.

Thanks to adidasss, I received this great electronicy album. It's that kind of indie pop dance music that's becoming so popular, but they have a very distinct sound, comparable to bands like Starf*cker and MGMT. The album starts off very strong. With two of the three top songs on the album, being the first two. It then veers off in a slightly more melodic direction with tracks like The Reeling and To Kingdom Come, which didn't really impress me much, especially the former. The album then take's another turn the more serious-toned Folds In Your Hands, which really showcases how vulnerable this group's sound can really be, and is lyrically one of the best songs on the album. It then precedes to pick back up in the dance pop that I expected the whole album to be. I definitely underestimated the sensitivity of the album, and expected just great indie pop. It fulfills, and completely surpasses that expectation. Thanks adidass.
