The Weeknd - Can't Feel My Face

The electronic rumbling at the beginning of the song sets a much different tone from the rest of the song, especially due to the vocals sounding like they belong in a ballad. However, as it slowly picks up, and the wonderfully-placed "Ooh!" signifies dropping the beat, the song turns into my favorite song released this year. The laid-back vocals displayed on this song seem to be becoming the norm, which I'll more than welcome. And the syncopated rhythm is excellent. I would be fine if this song was just the bass, drums, and vocals. And the way the drums just slowly disappear before the beat drops is also excellent. The backing vocals are also amazing. The production is absolutely amazing. Everything about this song is perfectly placed in the mix, and it creates for a funky song that doesn't have to hearken back to the 70s for inspiration.

It's a great track to me, so it's gotta be pop.

Silento - Watch Me

If your song is just telling me to watch you do a bunch of dance moves in an annoying voice, while a boring and generic mix plays in the background, then there is something wrong with your song. If your song reaches number 3 on the Billboard Hot 100, then there is something horribly wrong with the world. Everything about this song is stereotypical and bland. I hope you're enjoying yourself.

This one is a BIG flop.
