Wait, I might change this in case you haven't heard Indian's From All Purity yet. I just want to get a metal rec right.

I have not

Swap it out then. If you don't like it I'll know for sure that you're a poseur ass metal fan.

Reprisal - Boundless Human Stupidity
Recommended by The Batlord

Not sure why it's taken me so long to listen to this. I love metalcore like Batlord loves... well... metalcore. This beast has death metal listed as a secondary genre on RYM so I'm totally ready to be obliterated by some nasty gnarly metalcore goodness.

Wait for Refoundation: I'm ready. Alright straight up ****ing shredfest right out of the gate on this one. Nasty ****ing breakdown within the first minute? This is going rule. I could do without the death metal growls tbh. This is the type of **** that just makes you want to jump in the pit and start throwing hands.

Death Fortress: Weird skit, not much to say about it. It makes way to some more gnarly guitar work and raw vocals though so you know I'm vibing with it.

Bleeding Ensign: What is left to say at this point?

> Band enters
> Band destroys ****
> Band makes you wanna start a fight
> Band leaves

Get Ready for War: I haven't been paying attention to the skits, there might be a cool concept within this album but I'm just too busy tryna' have my ears ****ed, you feel me?

Children of Gaia: Huh, didn't even noticed the track changed. I guess that's the one thing I'll say about this, it's a little straight forward and to the point. Not a bad thing when you're looking for some destructive metalcore, but it does lead to the whole project kind of blending together.

The Shadow of Mankind: duh duh duh, duh duh duh, duh duh duh.

Plenilunio: Nice closing track here. Has the brutality, the nice guitar work, the ugly vocals, etc. etc.

Final Verdict: Pretty good album. I'd place it somewhere between Ringworm and Stampin' Ground on the list of Music to Cave Your Head In. It kind of lacked anything new or creative but sometimes you don't want that in your metalcore anyway, so yeah I dug it for what it was.

I was debating which album to put. The first was more metalcore, but the second has such gorgeous riffs. I don't even mind that it's almost more Gothenburg than metalcore. I was just blasting it on repeat while reading Thor comics and it was awesome. Made me go and download a bunch of Dark Tranquility albums too.
