Default Frownland Tackles the Bull****

Let's face it, we're all idiots. There's bullshit everywhere, and some of it landed inside of your head because you're so stupid. The internet makes it worse and propagates it. I'm stupid as well, but I'm going to try to keep that in mind while I look at commonly held beliefs, conspiracies, disguised marketing, and other things that you find in the field where the bulls shit. First entry should be coming up shortly.

Remember, I'm a moron too, so this thread encourages discussion for people who think I'm wrong (though I probably won't be).

My first topic is this common adage

This operates on the concept that added chemicals in food are dangerous and super scary, which they can be but largely aren't. It's based in the naturalistic fallacy (which I will probably be doing a segment on later) that suggests that everything natural is good for you and artificial foods are the equivalent of shooting up cancer while you **** yourself with a grenade and eat pins.

"Don't eat it if you can't pronounce it" gives everyone a different diet, because some people are physically incapable of saying the word "banana" correctly while some can say "carboxymethylcellulose" with ease. Can you pronounce "hemlock," "human flesh," or "dog crap"? Congratulations! You can add all three of those things to your diet because reasons.

Chemicals is a scary ass buzzword that mommy bloggers love to use to induce fear in their audience (because fear is the most effective tool to promote sales). That's obviously stupid because everything in existence is made of chemicals, so if you live on a chemical free diet you live on a starvation diet. Here is one food that's wraught with hard to pronounce chemicals

You might notice arsenic is on that list.

Long story short: don't let your speech impediment restrict your diet, you fucking idiots. It's entirely meaningless and has nothing to back it up.

I only know from scabs and peeling skin, but I've never been impressed.

I find them to be a poor, and less convenient substitute for bacon bits.
