This journal will be made for exploring multiple musical endeavors. Specifically those with a darker or more "gray" tone or sound to it. I will be searching, reviewing, suggesting, and talking about music of this variety in many forms. Whether it be recommending it to the public or simply writing a discussion about pieces I find interesting. This can get critical and philosophical. I find this will make for a nice change of pace in every entry I will do, and will provide insight onto my personality and some thoughts while I am at it.

You could start a review thread where you review other people's recommendations, if you want to explore new stuff.
The thing is, that a journal isn't a particularly good medium for this, since all post have to be approved first, which makes things slow and unappealing.

Ah Okay. I was thinking about adding the journal so I would have a central medium for all of it, though i do see your point. I was unaware of the approval process, sorry shouldnt have skimmed over the details hehe. Well thank you for notifying me. You could close the thread or something in that case, as I am not yet sure for what else I would be use a journal for at the time.

Judas Priest, widely know and regarded successfully, is not typically the darkest band, while holding anthems and songs within the discography that touch onto tones and meaning potentially heralded to be darker while maintaining the sound of Thor reigning down upon the mortals of the earth. Especially the earlier material just as 1978's Stained Class that would also be instrumental in the bands later day career and the influence on metal in various forms all together, another regard to the success of the band. While beyond meanings and tones of songs that still play an instrumental role to the analysis, controversy struck the album and band a damn-near decade after release. Marking a somewhat uncommon occurene of adding dark history behind the already "unfriendly" material. In a 1990 civil action against the band, two fans entered a suicide pact upon listening to the albums third track: Better by you, better than me The action resulted upon the two carrying out the pact, one dying and one reaching critical condition only to decent into a slow downward spiral three years later, dying due to the result. The action alleged that the song was an subliminal attempt to demand for the audience to kill themselves, "do it" was the message claimed in court. The suit was eventually dismissed, but left a trace of black onto the album that already had the sheer power of metal and dark undertones recognized.

Album Review:
The album at large, is viewed to have been an early counter-part of the New-Wave of british heavy metal, as well as having hints of power metal, speed metal and thrash metal which may have been early influences. The album can be largely described as an early classic and precursor to many sounds that would eventually dominate the metal industry, as well as being a stepping-stone album for developing the iconic Judas Priest sound that is to be heard today, coming after the very commercially ambiguous and mainstream Rocka Rolla (1974) of which garnished Hard Rock and Blues metal of the time and the more closely heavy metal related Sad Wings of Destiny (1976) that arose in a turbulent time for the band and metal, being that the mainstream populace had switched to a take of Punk for a time in the later 70s british Popular-music scene and that Judas Priest was broke off their ass. Only to come near commercial success with Sin After Sin (1977) That stood as the precursor to developing technique over developing the pure characteristic of what would be Judas Priest sound.

The first album for Danzig released (1988) It presents imagery of a mythological perspective, loaded of specifically abrahamic variety, in the bluesy rock/metal happening that are trademark to the Danzig vocal sound. The album along with its mythological elements, shares the darker and more voider content normally found in the equivalent of a black metal genre. Often holding its represented Abrahamic references in its Twist of Cain or Possesion. Material that was controversial at the time respectively. The entire album holds the soul of African American blues with the lyrical content of black metal and the image of christian metal. The mashup has proved to make the album iconic and a trademark for providing the baseline for later Danzig content. Proven further my songs such as The Hunter that are direct covers of blues artist Albert King who made the song a minor hit within the late 1960s. Songs such as the single Mother was a direct rhetorical response to the censoring of music by traditionalist and parents. In the words of Glenn Danzig himself "There was to be an organization that would tell you what you could record and if it was not appropriate, you would not put it out. It was very Facist" in reply to Parental Advisory Labels being introduces by organizations such as the Parental Resource Center

The Album: As stated, the album is the soul-fueled blues rock that would become the baseline for the musically shifting career of Danzig. Its mythological elements and lyrical content mixed with the powerful baritone of Danzig and souring gray instrumentals of the band would cement it so. While the band would later shift its music credibility through out the 90s to venures such as industrial metal (A popular and mainstream metal genre of the time) that would later exemplify itself into return to roots in later albums such as Deth red Sabaoth (2010) The album presents a rather top-heavy physique. With the first half of the album presenting the raging black-soul, and the second half providing a slower paced more melodic bluesy take. Unlike most albums within metal, it could hardly be presented as filler. The bluesy formation of the lower half of the album fits the theme and the instrumentation and vocal maintain their power in the somber and dark fashions known to Danzig.
