Solo Saxophone w/ echoes released yesterday

As a courtesy to potential listeners I like to point to a tradition that the music has grown out of when reviewing free jazz. The effects bring to mind Bitches Brew and what Colin Stetson accomplishes organically. This is not the type of jazz that rearranges the sounds of the predecessors. This guy has mad chops but he uses them to take you somewhere further. With how much free jazz revivalism that’s been going on the oxymoronic traditionalist avant-garde would probably serve him better commercially but he’d apparently rather jam the **** out with his own echoes and that’s what he does on this outstanding release. He blasts out these Brötzmannlike runs and then before it’s even over he’s smearing it all over the sonic landscape. 5/5.

The Taiwan-based ambient/experimental duo have formed a unique set of sounds from their extensive experimentation with beautiful acoustic Eastern instruments such as the Guzheng, Suona, Dizi and more modern digital tools such Environmental Sounds, Drum Machines, Prepared Electric Guitar and Synthesizers.

Take your most optimistic self to before the internet existed and imagine what it could do for the art of music collaboration. That’s what this is. The interaction and guiding formula bring to us the proper expression.

So ****ing 5/5

Remember the medium isn’t the message; the medium is the massage.

I just finished listening to this that was released yesterday to listen.

I guess the genre identifying best tag is “vapornoise”

Following clear vision productions was a good move on my part.

I’m getting a little old to keep sticking my nuts in the blender. These are a softer way. And yeah this is really good.

Can you put the text boxes over that pic of Brad Pitt holding the Fight Club soap?

Poetry of Georg Trakl

Sister's Garden

It's already cool, it's already late,

It's already autumn

In sister's garden, silent and still;

Her step has turned white.

A blackbird call lost and late,

It's already autumn

In sister's garden, silent and still;

An angel became.

Georg Trakl was an Austrian Expressionist poet. He also loved to get high and **** his sister, world famous pianist Grete Trackl.

Both siblings offed themselves. Georg at 27 in 1914 via lady cocaine after participating in a single WWI battle. Three years later his cutie-patootie younger sister successfully self-inflicted a masculine gunshot to her brain.

On the way to language
Book by Martin Heidegger

As a frame of reference for difficulty if you’re considering this and you’ve read some of Chomsky’s linguistics this is easier to wrap your head around than Chomsky. These are mostly lectures so a natural comparison would be Chomky’s Language and Problems of Knowledge: The Managua Lectures. Even though The Managua Lectures is considered to be on Noam’s more accessible side it’s still tough going. Both books deal specifically with the relationship between thought and language. The lack of language leaving us in an abyss. What implications does this have on instrumental music? Well, language is going to ground you somewhere else. That, too, is an important and fundamental experience- but in order to experience music untethered by distraction we must look for it in instrumentals to enjoy it in an open field of consciousness.
