I remember reading that alcohol improves creativity, while coffee (or rather caffeine) inhibits it. It really seems to be true from my personal experience. Interesting, since coffee + doing some writing is the stock mental image of how a well-adjusted writer works.

So do Jager bombs keep your creativity level?

Had to look it up. Energy drinks are gross, so... no thanks.

I don't wanna hi-jack Occult's journal for this, but uh... I don't know... they would cancel out? I don't know. My gut feeling tells me that alcohol has a more noticable effect than caffeine does.

OccultHawk 03-09-2018 03:45 PM

caffeine>cocaine

Frownland 03-09-2018 03:45 PM

amphetamines>caffeine

Caffeine makes you tense, booze makes you loose. No surprise there. Most of my best **** was written while drunk enough that I just felt like going off.

Hemingway never actually said "write drunk, edit sober" but that doesn't mean that it isn't some of the best writing advice in history.
