I don't understand why old people refuse to listen to new music but only read recent New York Times bestsellers.

Usually those books are written in the style of a 13 year old trying to be mysterious so I think their fragile minds can handle it better.

Probs. I love my grandmother to death but anytime she suggests a book to read I already know I'll only be humoring her.

Like the culture you grew up in defines you to the point of being a religion but almost nobody ever reads so it's easy to read current literature?

Like if you like new music instead of it being considered a life affirming hobby it’s considered a type of stunted development. And yeah - nobody reads.
