Driving to the beat - Bedlam's hit parade

Hi, everyone,
Here I'll share minor comments about the albums I listen while driving down to work.

I think a great start would be The New Folk Implosion, by The Folk Implosion, one of the many acts by Lou Barlow (Dinosaur Jr.), to me the greatest character in American's alternative rock scene together with Ian MacKaye (Fugazi) and Robert Pollard (Guided by Voices).

The Folk Implosion was active from 1993 to 2004. It started lo-fi as f**k but the late stuff is more to hi-fi, at least the closest an alternative band can get to hi-fi and that's the case of The New Folk Implosion, it's last release, from 2002.

Most of (or maybe all) the songs in the album have slow tempo, strong guitar riffs (Canadian musician Imaad Wasif is a great guitarist) and a very melodic bass line, which is typical from Barlow, vocals and bass player. The content and lyrics (I think most of or all of them by Barlow) are introspective and very personal stuff.

Track listing
Fuse
Brand of Skin
Pearl
Releast
End of Henley
Coral
Leaving It Up to Me
Creature of Salt
Easy

One of my favorite albums to listen while driving, although it's more suitable for short drives.
If you feel like trying it, I strongly recommend you listen to "Fuse", "Releast" and "Coral."
