Cool Instrumental 60's track.

Heard an instrumental version with the craziest psycho guitar riff on a track that was the instrumental "B" side to a song called " Softly whispering I love You" By, I think they were called , THE CONGREGATION or THE ENGLISH CONGREGATION.

If you know the song, maybe you can help me find the instrumental track !
I have the Vocals track.

Yeah ! It's VERY 60's POP stuff, but if you hear the guitar ...... ..well .... you'll know !

I remember getting extremely ripped on this song ! I found out the details when I landed !

That group you are inquiring about is the Mike Curb Congregation.

If memory serves, that song was released early in 1972 on MGM.

Mike Curb has an interesting history about him. Google in Mike Curb, then hit the first item (Biography). Below that Wikipedia has an interesting overview on him as well. He goes back a long ways and has worn different hats! At one time he was president of Verve records, the great jazz label which was a subsidiary of MGM ( and recently resurrected several years ago). He wrote hundreds of songs through the 60's and early 70's.

So what did he do in the late 70's? Got into politics and served as California's lieutenant governor, if I'm not mistaken, under Ronald Reagan!

Check those sites out, some interesting info there!

Yeah ! It was the mike curb congregation , Back when "congregation" meant group of hippies me thinks !!

Wasn't a popular song, but I heard the 45 and on the flip side was the instrumental. The guitarist was insane !
