Looking for Harry

Hi,

I work in a major market grocery store. Most of the time I can identify songs I've never heard by doing an internet search on lyrics of the songs.

This one song has me stumped. I've done a search on the lyrics, but I come up empty. I just started hearing this song a few months ago, but I cannot find it. It's about a guy who has died. The song is a medium tempo, done in kind of a serious way even though the lyrics are funny. The song ends with a trumpet and trombone playing jumbled notes with no melody to it.

Does anybody know this song?

Lyric; When Harry went off to bed he got up early to beat the day.
People said he should be dead rather than lead a double life that way.

Don't Go Looking for Harry.

I've tried writing the title in different manners to see if the internet search would find it, but nothing happens. I have tried several different search engines to no avail. I am not sure what genre of music this falls under, nor the group that would do such a song. (I've eliminated the Barenaked Ladies, the Kinks, and one other group I have forgotten.)

Does anybody have any ideas?

Note: Yes. I have posted this in two other forums, so search engines DO list my questions in their search. Unfortunately, it doesn't appear i have received any answers, yet.

Thanks.

Mike

Hi,

Thank you. How'd you find it?

I finally remembered who serviced our store with Background Music, then I found their website online. It had a place to send email, so I wrote out a nice letter explaining WHY I pay close attention to the music. Five minutes after I sent that email I had an answer to my question and the identity of the mystery song.

Thanks for the help.

Mike
