Odd request

I found this dumb video a long time ago. 0:57 a song starts playing. I never knew what it was. I wanted to ask, but the video was taken down. Well, it's back, and so is my question;.

Also, Roycooooo, cup-o-soo-OOOOOOUUUUP

... oh my.

Thanks...

Is this song famous for how the guy sings like Ozzy speaks?

Frownland 07-14-2016 03:00 PM

It's not famous.

JGuy Grungeman 07-14-2016 03:02 PM

You answered this one really quickly. Plus, and I quote wikipedia:

"The song gained popularity on the Internet because of its nonsensical lyrics (which are nothing but gibberish consisting of various onomatopoeic sounds, such as the "uale" noise, earning him the nickname of "El Mudo") and music video, which has seen it being used in numerous viral videos online."

Frownland 07-14-2016 03:13 PM

You trust Wikipedia?

Lol. That's what I thought.

Only if you proved its point by answering so quickly, unlike most threads here. That, and I've heard it in plenty of other places outside of the internet but I never could get the name.

If I post about my band or something else that I'm already pretty aware of really fast does that mean it's popular?

That's why. Heck, I've heard it on TV multiple times. Not sure where.

Frownland 07-14-2016 03:33 PM

I heard my band in real life, offline on the computer, and on the internet. WISSK is famous now, huh?

JGuy Grungeman 07-14-2016 03:35 PM

What makes you think that counts if you're a part of that band? Of course YOU'VE heard it Plus, I've seen memes made out of that song, I've heard iot on TV commercials, and I've even heard a couple kids mimicking it at an old school. I never bothered to ask before since it didn't matter to me.

I'm not saying it's uber-popular, but it's clearly more popular than you think. Just because you haven't heard it all over the place, that doesn't mean I haven't in my youth.

Oh look, a sheltered white boy assumes he knows what someone else thinks and has experienced. I'm shocked, I've never seen something like this before.

JGuy Grungeman 07-14-2016 03:44 PM

I'm going to throw this in the mix.

Chacarron Macarron | Meme Research Discussion | Know Your Meme

It;s an internet meme, it reached 20 on the UK Singles charts.

This is from the link:
"BBC Radio 1 DJ Scott Mills started a campaign on October 30, 2006 to get the song to #1 in the UK singles chart. A link was put up on the BBC website to the video on YouTube. Although the song did not reach the top, the campaign pushed the song all the way up to #20, which became its peak. It is one of the current at-bat songs of New York Mets shortstop José Reyes, Cleveland Indians third baseman Andy Marte, and Texas Rangers shortstop Elvis Andrus. Additionally, Arizona Diamondbacks Catcher Miguel Montero used this song in the 2007 season."

It's a Diamondback's theme song. And a Texas Ranger's. You really can't compare your band to something that's obviously got a little popularity to it. I never said it was Led Zeppelin IV level, but it clearly has some popularity.

Oh, WISSK is your band name? I googled it, nothing came up.

And who said I assume I know what you think? You're the one who just compared youself to a baseball player's tune. You haven't given me anything to back up your statem, ent except "This is how it is."

But you know what, all you're going to do is troll me because you and I share something in common: a very defensive personality. So I'm ending this before you piss me off.

Who could forget publicity stunts from BBC DJs and the theme songs of unheard baseball players (also referred to as baseball players without steroid scandals)?

WISSK is an acronym for Wolves in Sheepskin, moron. Everyone knows that.

I only see Bandcamp pages. I meant FB. Because I think I may have found it. Not sure if you'd want me posting.

Frownland 07-14-2016 04:40 PM

We never update it.

JGuy Grungeman 07-14-2016 04:43 PM

There's one thing in an FB page that always gets updated.
