Garage song, "everybody say hey hey, everybody say ho ho"

It's been bugging me for the last few days, Google has come up with a load of wrong results. It was a garage type song probably from early 2000's.

There was a repeating set of lyrics, what I remember as an English sounding guy (could also be female) going "everybody say" and then a group of people saying "hey hey" repeating with "everybody say" "ho ho"

Please help. Thanks.

I dont think its any of those, it was a Garage song not Rock, most likely played in the UK somewhere.

rubber soul 11-08-2017 09:43 AM

The Detroit Cobras maybe? They were the only garage band with a female circa 2000 that I can think of off the top of my head. Maybe King Khan and the BBQ Show could be another but that was a male lead singer

I think the OP is talking about Garage (a type of dance music from the UK), not Garage Rock.

Then I'll go with OccultHawk's suggestion then

Wrong.

The evolution of house music in the United Kingdom in the mid-1990s led to the term, as previously coined by the Paradise Garage DJs, being applied to a new form of music also known speed garage. Its originator is widely recognised to be Todd Edwards, the American house and garage producer, also known as Todd "The God" Edwards[citation needed]. In the early nineties, Edwards began to start remixing more soulful house records and incorporating more time-shifts and vocal samples than normal house records, whilst still living in the US. However, it was not until DJ EZ, the North London DJ, acquired one of Edwards' tracks and played it at a faster tempo in a nightclub in Greenwich, that the music genre really took off.
In the late nineties, the term "UK garage" was settled upon by the scene. This style is now frequently combined with other forms of music like soul, rap, reggae, ragga and R&B, all broadly filed under the description of urban music. The pronunciation of UK garage uses UK: /ˈɡærɪdʒ/ GARR-ij, rather than US: /ɡəˈrɑːʒ/ gə-rahzh.[1]

I didn't know how the name came about myself. Trollheart has schooled us all on Garage music.

Mad ting tbh.

Props to TH for the serious history lesson.

I believe the OP is after this club hit from Terry S Taylor's The Neverhood. (Cheers to my fellow DOS gamers.)

He was hardly trying to take credit for it though tbh. Though it does make me laugh when you see guys lifting stuff and thinking they won't get caught.

I knew something was fishy, he says all the time how he's not into Electronic music. Then you see him write a dissertation on the subject as if allegedly he did it on his own. It didn't add up.

Nah, just checked Wiki. Far as I know, a garage is a place you keep your car.

I don't think anyone would believe I was trying to pretend I knew anything about garage music. It was pretty obvious I'd done a WC&P.

I still like Garage Rock better :D
