Can I just suggest you change the good to very good? Good and average kinda mean the same thing to me...with regards to music naturally...

Urban Hat€monger ? 01-16-2008 02:56 PM

That's a good point actually

No wait , that's a very good point ;)

And I'd like to see shite instead of awful.

This album took me awhile to get into, I'd love the *** Parade and Satanic Panic but I could never really get past the opener (which I loved) until I started listening to it more and then I became addicted and I don't know if it is my favorite Of Montreal album but it's certainly up there. It's bizarre, it has this shimmering happy quality on the surface but underneath it's this neurotic breakdown. It's beautiful, ethan votes excellent.

I have to confess to never hearing this album, but that section I quoted above, was enough to get me interested.

They're good , they have the same sort of offbeat weirdness The Flaming Lips have.
They don't sound like them , but the ideology behind it has similarities if you get my meaning.

He won't like it...he's a miserable old git...:(

Very true...though being upbeat is always an effort, when your adrift on a sea of misery.

^ Aren't we all a little like that?

btw that's one of the most interesting descriptions of an album I've ever read.
Just hope the tunes measure up to it.
Will listen later.

I really don't want to vote on this yet as I have only heard this for the first time tonight. It is definitely an album that needs multiple listens. Not because it is particulary difficult. More the fact that there is a lot going on in each track that will be revealed over time.

I immediately like CATO AS A PUN and THE PAST IS A GROTESQUE ANIMAL. This is not normally the sort of thing I listen to but I will certainly listen to this one again and return with a more informed opinion.

I'm going to trip on acid to this one day.

I'm surprised Of Montreal have yet to bore me.

I promise it wasn't me who bumped this thread after a year and a half, but I voted excellent.

No, I'm pretty sure you bumped it.

Good album though, especially Suffer For Fasion.

Although I really like Skeletal Lamping, I still prefer this.

And after reading through this thread im interested to learn what right-tracks opinion is.

thread-bump

i think some spammer posted on this and it came up in the "New Posts" list

i voted very good but i still prefer the two preceding albums, mainly cos the production is less cluttered and the songs are catchier
