I think that Kanye over does a lot of things, but what I love about him is that he's not scared to take a chance. He's a movement maker, and you have to give him props for that.

The Majority

It's clear the majority of people on the forum love rock, but I think that if they really listened to this whole album they'd be surprised how much it crosses over.

That doesn't mean that the entire rock majority is going to comment on this. Stay a little longer at these forums and you'll notice the eclecticism of the members.

I loved everything Kanye did except for this album.
The album itself sucks not the genre he portrays.

jacklovezhimself 03-13-2009 06:47 PM

I could really care less.
I prefer he'd rap it rather than sing it because he's better at rapping.

This is a solid pop album. Glad I gave it a d/l.

Easily Kanye's worst album, although Heartless, Love Lockdown and Amazing had some success, Kanye needs to stop singing and changing his voice and get back to what hes good at: rapping.

I actually really enjoyed the album. Yes, he used autotunes and he should never perform live/freestyle(pinocchio story) but it was a very well produced album that was completely different from other albums. I originally heard that it sounded so different that they were thinking about releasing the album under a "new" artist's name. They had originally planned to release it under a different name to test the public and see if there was a market for it. I would argue that if they were to do that this album wouldn't have sold 100 copies.

Call me crazy, but this is the ONLY Kanye West album I can listen to from beginning to end! I absolutely love this album, honestly. Every time I listen to it it really reminds me of the whole period in my life in late 2008. Maybe that's why. Because I remember vividly that whole time period for me. But certain songs.....brilliant to me. Paranoid, Coldest Winter, Robocop, Amazing are all........amazing! Definitely excellent album in my opinion.

I'm sorry, but what? My favorite Kanye album was Graduation. The rest of this statement I will agree with, but I LOVED Graduation. :bringit:

doesn't that make it a poor album if it sold on the strength of kanye's reputation alone? Led Zeppelin famously released the album IV without the name "Led Zeppelin" on it to prove that they weren't selling cd's because of the band's rep, and it went and sold hundreds of thousands of copies.

Yea exactly, I'm saying that I liked the album but I probably wouldn't have bought or listened to the thing if his name wasn't attached to it.

Thewebsetter 05-13-2010 05:50 PM

street lights is the realist song on that album. Kanye was really going mainstream on this album but i think the opposite kinda happened - This album in its entirety is only for a small group of people.

Thewebsetter 05-13-2010 05:51 PM

The Angry Broken Hearted.

glastonelle 05-31-2010 01:14 AM

No. Just no.

Unrelenting 06-09-2010 10:46 AM

I enjoyed it. It sounded a lot more electronic than his other releases. That's not just because of the autotune either. The production of the songs contributed to it. The drum in Robocop sounded like a ball bouncing in a factory and I loved it.

jazzybeatz 07-05-2010 08:04 AM
