First impressions were awesome. Atlas Air makes this album worth listening to alone. I don't think it'll top Mezzanine, but I could easily see this as being my second favorite from them when it's all said and done.

I took me a long time to adjust to the slick polished steel sound of Mezzanine because it was departure from the rockers sound system approach of Blue Lines and Protection. MA goes to great lengths to make each album different from the previous one so it will probably take some time for me to catch up to their learning curve.

MA is 6 or 7 years ahead of everyone else and only release an album as often, so I'm taking my time to savor this one.

checked it out and was very pleased. didn't hang on to it though - these guys deserve a proper listen, and all that i've found are either transcodes or frankenstein albums.

waiting for a proper release :)

Same here. They really need to be listened on a decent sound system and my copy is half 192 and 320 rate which hampers my opinion. I will buy the album when it comes out anyhow and then do a review.

Good signs though? It's on the download now, shall be the first of 2010!

I'll definitely be buying it on CD rather than downloading it, mp3s just don't do MA justice. I like the album art it looks pretty cool.

for what it's worth, a proper copy of this album has been "in the wild" for about 12 hours now :D

I bought it on cd today. Impressions are pretty good so far, not as good as Mezzanine or Blue Lines but will probably take a few more listens to reveal itself. Standout track so far is definitely 'Girl I Love You', it opens with an awesome deep bass line, and doesn't let up. Horace sounds as good as ever on this track, classic MA. 'Paradise Circus' with Hope Sandoval on vocals is eerie and beautiful, a really great song.

i was really blown away...i think every song has something to offer. honestly, i had no clue what to expect after 100th window (which i also loved)...but this is far from disappointing. this is one of those albums where i wanted to make everyone i know listen to it. i'd have to give it a few more listens before i judge it compared to mezzanine...but as people have been mentioning i think i am actually going to buy this sucker. massive attack really deserve it...and the album cover is damn cool.
