I bought this album a couple of months back and finally got around to listening to it about a week ago. I'm surprised I didn't listen to it earlier compared that Gorillaz is one of my favorite bands, but hey, you get busy. Anyways, as for a review, I would recommend this album for any Gorillaz fan. The Orchestral Intro, Rhinestone Eyes, Stylo, Glitter Freeze(it has a very heavy wah-wah guitar-synch intro at first which is the only good part of the song), On Melancholy Hill, Plastic Beach, To Binge(this one is my favorite), and the intro to Unknowing Cloud are all very deep catchy tunes that resonate a feeling of calm and tranquility throughout you. The rest of the songs on the albums are literally hit and miss, some will annoy you so much that it'll make you want to take the CD back to the store.
All around though this is a sturdy album. The Gorillaz-only songs are the ebst in the entire line-up while the combinations with other artists like Snoop Dogg sound extremely out of any element of music. There is no describing some of the songs chords and arrangements in a few songs(like Pirate Jet). Out of the 16 songs on the album, I believe that only 7 are able to be replayed ever again. The others will make you cringe. So for a good try and a journey into the unknown Gorillaz, I give you a 3 out of 5 =D
