I wish this was on a 10 point scale cause i really wanted to give it a 9, but since it's not i decided to round up. I REALLY like this album. It's so catchy and I love the depth of the songs. There's always something interesting happening. I will most definitely be buying this album when it comes out.

I'm disappointed, but they were due for a mediocre album.

The only songs on my repeat playlist are Sleeping Ute, Yet Again and Gun-Shy.

Speak in Rounds starts brilliantly then strums itself into annoyance.

I have a similar complaint with most of the lame songs: they provide too few mood swings to warrant their length, eventually forcing me to hit my next track button.

I really like the psychedelic influences on Sleeping Ute & Yet Again, but that's only two songs.

You didn't like Sun in Your Eyes? That song is really epic.

debaserr 09-02-2012 02:02 AM

It's decent, but not something I like to hear often. It has no "tricks".

Justthefacts 09-17-2012 12:27 PM

Should I even bother getting this album? these guys blew my mind with their last album but does this one hold up?

debaserr 09-17-2012 12:42 PM

Yes, it's Grizzly Bear.

Alright, I'm putting faith in you.

Justthefacts 09-19-2012 02:50 PM

I thought it was great, I'm gonna listen to it again later.

How much does it sound like The Antlers?

A little, much more psychedelic though. I wouldn't consider The Antlers psychedelic.

14232949 09-19-2012 03:09 PM

I thought Yellow House was very similar to Hospice.

Justthefacts 09-19-2012 03:19 PM

I don't see it. In terms of vocals, Its similar to an extent. But Hospice is a much darker album while Yellow House is quiet and eerie.

Justthefacts 09-19-2012 03:19 PM

Have you heard either Hospice or Yellow House?

14232949 09-19-2012 03:28 PM

Both. Obviously.

Not at all. Way better than the antlers cause it's not boring in the slightest.

I know, dumb question. Which do you prefer? I prefer Hospice. Yellow House is solid though.

14232949 09-19-2012 04:02 PM

I prefer Yellow House.
Couldn't really get into Hospice after hearing so much about it. For me, Burst Apart is a better album than Hospice, though I suspect the former is a grower.
It took me a few listens to get behind Yellow House.

Justthefacts 09-19-2012 04:10 PM

I didn't like Yellow House at first but it definitely grew, just like all of Grizzly Bear's other LP's. Shields is growing on me. I like it.

The Final Track 09-23-2012 10:53 AM

Think this might be my album of the year.

Surell 10-18-2012 01:11 AM

I'm having trouble deciding between 5 or 4. I wanna say 5 but that seems so irresponsible.
