I love the first half of this album but as soon as he gets into the slower radio tunes that people eat up and love. That's when I check out. I come back in for the last track though because it's a really great ender.

There are supposely five more tracks that I haven't heard yet. Evil Twin is the last track of the regular edition and not the iTunes Exclusive.

I gave it a 4/5

Brainless is a banger. That one is like old Eminem. Production is quality as well.

I don't think it's bad as I thought it was when I first rated it (2 stars).

Bad Guy
Rhyme or Reason
Legacy
Brainless

Stand out for me.

Apparently this is his last album as well?

Does anyone mind if I remake this thread?

Listen to #13 So Far. My favorite by far. Also the next one Love Game with K Lamar is pretty awesome as well.

@DJ: I totally agree about the slow songs. They are all the radio friendly boring ones. It is too bad he had to include them because the rest of the album is pretty awesome. I also feel like he yells at us a little too much.

Just realised I've forgot to add a poll again.

If a mod could add a 1-5 poll that isn't anonymous, that would be great.

Top modding .

Public poll added. We can't merge threads for some reason anymore (I don't know why ) so I will just delete the first one.

Cuthbert 11-03-2013 09:56 AM

Thanks BD.

Public poll added and now nobody wants to vote. Allow me to be the first.

Surell 11-03-2013 11:55 PM

Who voted 4/5?

It's a public poll, bro. Plus, I've mentioned two or three times that i've rated it 4/5.

also if you read the first post you can see I was one of them as well that gave it 4/5 on the last poll.

What's your opinion of the album?

Dr_Rez 11-04-2013 11:04 AM

Honestly half the album is amazing and the other half sucks. DJ said it perfectly, half of it is like slow songs for young peoples radios.

Surell 11-04-2013 07:11 PM

that was the joke, but I'm refraining from listening.

Rez Hip Hop is a young man's game. Like, under 40 young.

djchameleon 11-06-2013 02:47 AM

Have you guys heard the last five tracks?

Thoughts?

The ones after Evil Twin I'm talking about.

Cuthbert 11-06-2013 08:08 AM

Nope, they are on the deluxe edition aren't they?

I'm buying the CD tomorrow just dunno which one I'll get. Always preferred the regular edition for some reason as that's the actual album.

djchameleon 11-06-2013 08:17 AM

I always feel like the deluxe edition is the actual album and when I buy the regular by accident. I feel so cheated.

Cuthbert 11-07-2013 02:06 PM

One thing pissing me off about this album is the response to Headlights. Massive overreaction, he apologised to his mom and & people think it's the best song ever.

This is meant to be Hip-Hop, not fucking Heat magazine.

djchameleon 11-07-2013 02:08 PM

People like when Em opens up and shows all his feels.

That's why people love Recovery so much more than Relapse.

Cuthbert 11-13-2013 02:43 PM

Hard copy arrived today. Enjoying this release a lot but I don't think I'll be coming back to it in a year or so.

3/5 is probably fair. Miles better than his albums post Eminem Show.

Goofle 11-14-2013 05:09 PM

*including Eminem Show.

Not a huge fan of it, but it's gone some awesome tracks. Hooks ruin it.

PBH 11-14-2013 05:10 PM

I'm actually listening to Em now, just a mixture of tracks off different albums, i found his album on the internet about a week ago and i still haven't listened to it all, I've listened to some of it, some of the songs are alright, but just alright, in my opinion he's no where near as good as he use to be, his underground stuff, his 1st 3 studio albums and what he did with D12 was brilliant, but i stopped following him when he bought out Encore, i didn't think much to that, except the odd track was alright, then i got back into him a bit when i heard relapse/refill and recovery, but most of his songs nowadays just aren't as memorable as his older stuff, and his rhyming has gone off track as well, i use to think he was amazing at rhyming, one of the best, but now i'd say he's far from the top spot like the way i use to see him, i won't slag him off to much though, its talent that he can still carry it on chucking about 15 to 20 songs on each album.

PanicBomb 02-23-2014 11:31 AM

I've never been an Eminem fan in the past. I do enjoy this album a lot though. To me it feels a lot more genuine than what I've heard from him in the past.

The Universe 02-23-2014 06:10 PM

Ok so this album is both good and bad for me. I've been an Eminem fan forever so that's why it's up and down. First off I do not like that he called it the Marshall Mathers LP 2 because although Bad Guy relates to Stan, the rest of this album is nothing like The Marshall Mathers LP. That cd is filled with frustration, anger, and a new found struggle to maintain his increasingly public new life. The first one also had more heart in the form of lyrics in it. ....MMLP2 though is good because of his sheer rapping ability. The way he raps is literally unlike anything I've heard. Some of the words don't even seem to work on paper or in theory but somehow through slight pauses and a quick tongue, he makes them work...I believe that anyone who wants to hear someone with pure ability when it comes to rapping, then this is truly an album to study...Maybe not lyrical content but the form and ways he uses language to transform when it actually comes off of paper and forms sound.

africanslang 03-04-2014 03:42 PM

What can i say...... I love Eminem and it''s not that this album is bad, because its not. but come on...... its Eminem, i feel he could have done so much better. He has so much experience in the game. I don't hate it and i don't love it either.

Muzikismyaeroplane 03-05-2014 02:37 PM

Headlights

One of the best songs I think he's come out with in a while. Truly touching

DirtyScopeBeatz 03-09-2014 05:06 AM

I have not listened to this album yet but I am about to now. I heard the singles and already think what I heard is amazing. I will be back with my official opinion in a few moments guys.
