Michael Jackson - Love Never Felt So Good

What do you guys think of the new MJ song?

It once again shows you the genius move of Michael Jackson. He was a great talent.

I LOVE IT!

I didn't know we could post songs in this forum lol I thought it was just album releases but anyway....

I love this song. I love the old school/ Off the Wall vibe

The song was originally recorded in the early 80's and Michaels vocals are as smooth as ever. Its a nice summer jam. If the Estate promotes it right, this song can easily do well on R&B stations.

Oops, now that you mention it, I'm actually not sure if this topic is just for album releases or that we can post single releases as well...

Anyway, about the song, I absolutely love it. It's such a happy tune! I love both versions, the original and the one feat. Justin Timberlake.

I've spend some time last friday reading the reactions on YouTube and Facebook and made a recap on what people are saying about the song. You can find it on my tumblr page (asongadaymusic) if you're interested in reading it :).

that's a miracle, didn't know dead men could still record music, wow!

It's cool that they're putting up songs by MJ that we've never heard before, but I thought about something. Michael was a perfectionist. He wanted to make sure every piece of music he released was worth listening to. If he didn't release the songs in the XSCAPE album when he was still alive, he probably thought they weren't worthy to be released.

You have a good point, and from the reactions under the Youtube video, a lot of people share your opinion. As do I in a certain way. Michael was a perfectionist, and that's why people still love his music. But we don't know the whole story (we weren't there when he recorded this, obviously ;)! ). From what I understand XSCAPE is based on previous recorded demo's, which weren't full songs yet (listen to 'Love Never Felt So Good', it seems like the producers had to work with just one verse, pre-chorus and chorus which is repeated throughout the song). So I find it hard to say that the demo's weren't good enough in Michaels opinion and that they were never to be released. Maybe he just wanted to work on them a bit more before releasing them or maybe he was saving the demo's for another era. Obviously I'm just guessing because, like I said, I wasn't there ;)! Maybe he did think it was rubbish, who knows..

I agree with the points others have made here. The album also features the original untouched demo's as well. I just wish the Estate had producers that actually worked with Michael (they did) but some of the producers did not and they did an awful job in my personal opinion on remixing the songs. Michael was indeed a perfectionist and regardless of the reasons, there is a reason why these songs were not released. I personally think they should have just released the songs without re-visions. Some of the demo versions are actually great and alot better than these revisions. However, I understand why they re-vised some of these songs because some of the songs are just loops of choruses or phrases.

Love Never Felt So Good is a 1983 demo/song that just repeats the chorus and is looped which is probably why they added JT on the bonus version to make it more marketable. Still, they could have added somebody besides JT.

After listening to some of the snippets I am actually disappointed with some of the re-visions. I am glad LNFSG is doing well though.

I actually really dig it, it was a funky side of Mike I hadn't heard in awhile, only heard it once and thought "oh is this from JT's N*Sync days, pretty righteous go him" but now I'm learning it's new which is also cool.
