Default King of Pop

Theres alot of bands that I don't think are bad pop bands, and frankly I'd rather listen to them than MIcheal Jackson. (i bring him up because he's the king of pop) but list any of the bands you think deserve a crack at "best pop act"

In my opinion, I think The Bare Naked Ladies write some really good pop tunes and don't have the same 3 topics that the rest of the pop songregation has (paparazzi; leave me alone, Im normal, and something along the lines of sex, or any slight variation on these).

Anyway...your turn.

I would say Blink-182 because they were one of the first bands that I got into, and grew up listening to. I hate their new **** though...

They do write some pop jams. I think it takes a certain amount of balls to be a pop band like they are and crap on MTV in the song, because you've essentially lost air play because of it and their goes any semblance of a base market. So good for them.

Hey i'm new to music banter just been looking through some of the threads and i just have to say............Millybig u make me chuckle lol

Anywho, with regards to this topic i'm undecided on a group but for a single artist i guess i would say Stevie Wonder shades it for me, if that counts('I Just Called To Say I Love You' aside) I know it's a lil' old but hey.........send me some recommendations and i'll update my music collection propmtly

But why ever not? Jacko has had some quality choons in his day. He is without doubt the definitive King Of Pop.

Wink

I recommend Jacko's version of the classic Beatles song 'Come Together', it's been covered by other artists, but I think you will agree his version is by far the most experimental and different from the original
