I think part of the weirdness is that it was never properly 'finished' and put together as an intentional and cohesive album experience - and the label released it anyway. I think at this point, with all the different pressings/releases of it, it's got around 3 different 'official' names and 3 or 4 different 'official' tracklists/track-sequences.

A great album (albums?) for sure.

Edit: "like you're listening to 70s bar rock except it's 2am and you're smashed" - that's a lovely and accurate way to put it, lol. It may be more fragmented than Pavement's 'Wowee Zowee'
