*** as hell.

pheurton 06-14-2007 11:16 AM

I generally don't like admitting I like twee pop because well it's unrelentingly generic for the latter.

Urban Hat€monger ? 06-14-2007 12:24 PM

Cuddlecore?

I'd like to nominate The Field Mice as the most twee band in history.

Bane of your existence 06-15-2007 04:02 AM

I'll see your Field Mice and raise you an All Girl Summer Fun Band.

pheurton 06-16-2007 07:31 AM

My gran likes the cardigans, so do I :o:

So much better! If it wasn't for the Withnail and I sig I'd hate you.

sleepy jack 06-18-2007 12:09 AM

B'ehl ftw.

jackhammer 06-24-2007 05:37 PM

Twee pop? if BELLE AND SEBASTIAN are an example then count me out. Good pop-check out SAINT ETTIENNE.

Farfisa 06-17-2009 03:23 PM

I recently discovered the genre and I feel like maybe I shouldn't enjoy it as much as I do... Velocity Girl and The Snow Fairies have been on my tweedar recently, the former isn't so much as "twee", but you could get away with calling them so.

Sneer 06-17-2009 03:55 PM

No shame in admitting my love for twee. Field Mice, Aztec Camera, The Pastels and Bearsuit are all getting rinsed atm.

Good band, come from round my way too!

Sneer 06-17-2009 04:05 PM

I love them, they bring something different to the twee formula.

Two excellent bands there. Not heard of the other two though.

I love Belle and Sebastian too.

Gone Sugaring 06-17-2009 04:24 PM

A good majority of my favorite bands are what you'd call twee.

Orange Juice
The Vaselines
Beat Happening
Josef K
Belle and Sebastian
The Pastels
Rocketship
The Field Mice
Shop Assistants
Black Tambourine
Camera Obscura
Talulah Gosh
Heavenly
Tiger Trap
The Softies
The Orchids

Bulldog 06-17-2009 04:31 PM

^ I've got quite a few of those. Looks like I know more of the stuff than I thought.

I suppose you could call the Television Personalities twee pop (who are excellent as well in case anyone doesn't know).

I always thought of Television Personalities as proto-twee.

Pretty definitive list, havent heard Rocketship or Tiger Trap but the rest all range from pretty good to excellent.

And i wouldnt call Television Personalities twee, a lot of their stuff for me is too dark for that, though i dont own their entire dicrography granted.

Yeah, I've only got And Don't the Kids Just Love It, so I haven't really got much to go by when it comes to labeling them.

I'd love to die by insane amounts of tweeness.

Here's a few of my favourites:

And last but not least, possibly the most twee band on the planet

Captain Ron 06-23-2011 01:12 PM
