Angels & Airwaves

I kind of messed up merging threads on them so...I'll offer a brief description.

After the break up of Blink-182, guitar/vocalist Tom Delonge decided to form Angels and Airwaves which features Box Car Racer guitarist David Kennedy, Distillers bassist Ryan Sinn and Offspring drummer Atom Willard. They sound like U2 meets Blink-182 around self-titled I guess, but leaning more towards that U2 sound.

Anyway to the main reason I posted this thread, new single from their album "I-Empire" excepted to be released in October: Angels & Airwaves, Everythings Magic (Single).rar

My thoughts: Way to steal the riff from Anthem Part 2 Tom, and I think it sucks.

Egh ugly ugly ugly band.

figure8 08-29-2007 01:34 AM

I read somewhere when they were first getting out there that Tom was claiming them to be bringing something entirely new to today's music, groundbreaking work nobody's done before..Funny they sound exactly like Blink and every other side project.

sleepy jack 08-29-2007 02:10 AM

Yeah Tom said a bunch of ridiculous things like ava was going to save music, they were going to be the greatest band ever, etc.

jawsthemeswimming89 09-02-2007 08:32 AM

thats bull****, he ruined something amazing =\

blink got me into music, but toms a little b bout everything...

holdyoualways 09-02-2007 11:35 AM

i think both plus 44 & angels & airwaves are shit
tom, travis, & mark are not interesting or musically appealing unless theyre in blink in my opinion

Brock Landers 09-02-2007 12:29 PM

you think this band sucks and you are praising panic at the disco? but I guess you are 16 so that is to be expected. do you like Cartel too?

CAPTAIN CAVEMAN 09-02-2007 01:17 PM

I can't stand this band.

Pretty good band. I had We Don't Need To Whisper on repeat for ages back when it first came out, but don't listen to them a great deal these days.
Valkyrie Missile and The Adventure were/are kickass tracks...

I'll more than likely check out the new album.

djchameleon 09-23-2007 01:51 PM

I hate them so badly...they suck. I like +44 better :D

Cari Lynn 09-23-2007 11:10 PM

I saw A&A about a year ago, and while their material is kind of good for rock radio, I found Tom Delonge's stage presence to be lacking. I felt like I was listening to a motivational speaker instead of a lead singer. +44, by far, makes better songs as well as completely whole, appealing albums.

jl3283 10-06-2007 06:49 AM

plus 44 is better

Jonz 01-28-2008 06:39 AM

So, the new album (not so anymore)....

Love Like Rockets... Sirens... Secret Crowds... True Love... Lifeline... Rite of Spring... Heaven...

Brilliant tracks, all of them.

Fkn great album, better than the debut for me.

Lizzie 01-28-2008 08:40 PM

Plus 44 and this band are both horrible. Blink 182 was better than both, and Blink 182 were pretty bad themselves.

poppunkblogger 01-31-2008 08:19 PM

angels and airwaves is pretty good in my opinion, but no where near as good as blink

ava's first cd is better than their second

I think not.

Dizzys in the wolf 02-10-2008 09:24 AM

Blink 182 split just when they started to sound interessting. And Neither of the spin off bands are worth listening to.

Simple Plan>Blink 182>Angels and Airwaves> Plus 44

owned

Farfisa 02-15-2008 12:55 PM

i honestly hate anything that has to do with blink 182

skippy 03-09-2008 12:15 PM

i hate angels and airwaves. i thought i would like them considering i'm a big blink fan and tom was in it..but no.
and all this crap about how he thinks he's some musical genius pissed me off and makes me lose more respect for him. hahah
+44 is a lot better and has more of the blink sound to them.

RoemerMW 03-09-2008 01:52 PM

Nearly every musical artist ever>Angels and Airwaves, blink-182, and +44

Pompous preachy stadium rock, I'd say so.

That doesn't say much for any of them.

I can't enjoy either of these bands. They're pretty much watered down versions of what was an overall great band.
