Savage Garden

yes they are an old 90s band with catchy mainstream pop music
i totally forgot about them until recently & i have to admit, their songs are really good
particularly "i want you" & "crash & burn"
guilty pleasure i suppose
:)

guilty pleasure of mine too. specially that song 'Truly, madly, deeply'

Savage Garden rocked! :P

They would have been one of the first bands I developed a liking for, back when I was a young lad. Parents use to play them constantly. I loved their debut album, but never really got into Affirmation, other than the few singles it had.

Since the breakup, I never got into Darren's solo stuff.

I loved Savage Garden back in the day. Their 1st album kicked ass, and their 2nd was pretty good too.

I Want You was a fantastic song. Whatever happened to Darren Hayes? His solo stuff didn't go down too well here. I bought Pop!ular but I didn't even bother with his album.

I'm a fan of Darren Hayes voice. I like his solo stuff, and I miss Daniel Jones. <3 Savage Garden fan. My favorites are I want you, to the moon and back & truly, madly, deeply.

Darren Hayes eventually decided he was gay and married a man. Kind of cheapened those hit Savage Garden ballads.

"To the Moon and Back" and "Crash and Burn" are underrated and somewhat forgotten, whereas those ballads are overrated. Darren Hayes wrote and sang very emotive lyrics, especially for a pop singer. Savage Garden possibly was the best band (a duo, really) to be exported from Australia to the USA in the 90's.

really i didnt know he was gay

i liked their songs back in the day tho, especially the chicka cherry cola song

I love them. I still dig a lot of their songs but my favorite is Santa Monica. They used to be a big deal for me as a child and I've been able to appreciate them even more now than I did as a kid. Their two albums were honestly fantastic with quality lyrics and great instruments accompanied by flawless vocals.

Break Me Shake Me, Tears of Pearls, I Don't Know You Anymore, Affirmation, and The Animal Song are other notable favorites of mine.

I adore Savage Garden as cheesy as they are. Darren Hayes is still kicking around and making appearances here and there. They just remind me of growing up in the 90s in Australia.

Based on what people are saying, the high success rate of the singles released in the USA, and songs listed as hits elsewhere but not played over here, I'd say Savage Garden could have had more success in America if promoted more.

love,love,love them!!!

I adore Savage Garden. They really made my childhood special.

Haha I'll never forget my junior year prom date singing Truly, Madly, Deeply at the Karoke station and feeling super awkward because I did NOT like him...

He was seriously-open about being gay on his official YouTube channel. Respect from me. :)
