Singing about cancer, even as a metaphor or symbolism, AT ALL, is automatically a cliche? Just because they simply speak about an element that is commin within a cliche does not mean that they, themselves are cliche.

No , the way they were doing it was , hence me calling it cliche

I didn't post the english lyrics to show you they weren't cliche I posted the english lyrics to show that they are more articulate, even in thier second language, than american artists are in thier first.

Well in that case you failed

No, the music I listen to, I found it on my own, it wasn't shoved in my face by some corporate media. The bands I listen to make thier music as an expression, if the band is trying to express anxiety and nihilism, so be it, but the we listen to it because we agree and genuinely appreciate thier music not because society and the media has told us that was the music we are supposed to listen to.

 You listen to Static-X, Coal Chamber and Godsmack amongst others. You're no different from every angsty middle schooler who spends their afternoons loitering in hot topic.

You still haven't explained how. The band, even isolating thier German lyrics (aka 90% of thier lyrics), is simply talking about different topics like religion and death and sex, and saying thier opinions of them. The way you call them cliche makes me think it isn't possible to not be cliche by your standards.

And even after all of this 'cliche' nonsense, the band's sound is very noncliche, enough to warrent them thier own genre of music (Neue Deutsche Härte).

Angst isn't a feeling limited to middle schoolers who listen to crappy bands...

No, those kids listen to Breaking Benjamin and Greenday, sorry. I actually went into Hot Topic last summer looking for a good t-shirt for a band I like, I was specifically looking Godsmack because I already had Metallica and Oomph (my next favorite band after them being Godsmack), and they had none. They had no Godsmack CDs or posters, they only had one Metallica shirt for Christ's sake. Needless to say they had no Static-X or Coal Chamber. You're confusing two types of people and two types of bands as the same thing, better luck next time.

By the way, I never found a Godsmack shirt in any of the stores in our mall...
