I'm not very fond of the excessive use of vibrato, but I won't say this is bad.

Norah Jones, she isn't good?

She is very adorable. I have her 'best-of' album and the whole thing is just really quite awesome.

I also like singers that are different, if you get what I mean.
There's a certain style of singing in Japan, common in the Amami Ōshima region. A singer that I like very much comes from there and if you listen to any of her songs:

And as you can see it is a very very distinctive style of singing.
Her voice is known to be very relaxing in Japan.... I wonder if it gives the same impression to Western listeners? I know I feel relaxed when I listen to her.

I will have to go with Stevie Nicks

and yes Norah Jones does have a good voice

The lead singer of Paramore.... She has a video where they played live at the vma's or grammys or something but it sounded just as good as the album, she did not miss one single note!!

Ill go look for the video now and post it

I always like the Asian female artists you post CaseNumber. To my "Western ear," her music is just the opposite of relaxing. I am more roused by it--it's intriguing and mysterious to me, it makes me sit up and listen, but I wouldn't call it relaxing. But maybe that's just me and not representative of other Western listeners...

Her voice is definately intriguing, you're right

It might be that it is just a different listening experience for different types of people

Hayley Williams. She has a pretty good voice. Love some of their songs.

It's always great to hear an artist that sounds the same live as they do on their CD. People like Gwen Stefani make me sick with her live singing. It's terrible.

Neko Case is my fave female vocalist. She's just amazing imo

Other vocals I like that I can think of right now are PJ Harvey & Jenn Grant.
