I wouldn't excatly call ICP popular... they seem to appeal mostly to a small number of douchebags

They've found a music style that is popular with prepubescent girls who like to spend daddy's money. If you were to look at it as a business move they did the smart thing by playing something that requires little though or talent, that appeals to the masses, and capitalizes on their "good looks".

Why do people make threads like this? No one of intelligence is pushing Fall Out Boy as important or good. They found a marketable niche and are pushing that. Just get over it, and if you don't like it, then just turn it off.

I just wanted MusicBanters opinion on it, instead of assuming that everyone who would respond has no respect for Fall Out Boy. Myself, I have not listened to much of their stuff and although I feel as though I hate them, I cannot really judge. I didn't know, maybe they were better then I thought. It was worth the post.

The general rule for any business is that to appeal to the most people possible, the product needs to be general enough so that it doesn't attract just one or two nices and instead grabs the folks who don't really give a damn where their money goes anyway and who think of music in the same way they think of their doormat.

As Hitler once said, "How fortunate for governments that the people they administer don't think."
